Scam Notice

We’ve heard from a number of ONA26 speakers that they’ve been contacted by third-party groups claiming to be affiliated with ONA about booking hotel rooms, asking for personal details or claiming to sell speaker and attendee information.

We have no relationship with any third party company to assist with booking hotel rooms on our behalf and do not provide personal contact details such as emails or phone number of our attendees or speakers to anyone.

Unfortunately, we’ve heard from peer organizations that they’ve also had these types of companies reach out to exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees. At a minimum, these companies may put you in a hotel that is far from the conference venue. In a worst-case scenario, you may arrive at your booked hotel to learn the hotel does not have reservation information for you, or that hotel may impose a severe cancellation penalty if their facility is not up to your standards. Please proceed with caution to avoid engaging with scammers.

If you need information about the ONA26 hotel or to book, our hotel information is at ona26.journalists.org/hotel.

Please alert our team if you are contacted by anyone outside of the staff and hotel contacts we provide to you at the hotel page on our site, or if you ever have questions about whether someone who has reached out to you has a legitimate relationship with our team. You can reach us at support@journalists.org.
